Just a few things I'm thankful for

Ben. :) He's the best. I love him.

Ben's family. They are all amazing and so much fun.

My family.

They keep me grounded and they are absolutely amazing. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing mom and dad. I also am grateful for Colton. He's such a great little brother and we always have so much fun together. I love them!!

And Carter and Stephy.. Steph has been so much fun to have in our family. It's so great to have them live close by so I can see them often. Love you both!

And yes there are a million other people and things I am grateful for but I just wanted my families to know how much I love them and how thankful I am for all of them :)

One year ago today....

One year ago today Ben and I were coming back from visiting my family in Fillmore and getting new tires on my car. We were just north of the Panquitch exit when Ben said, "Do you feel that vibrating?" I said, It's probably just the road, and he said I think it's our tires. Well, as this conversation was happening we were passing a diesel. Just after we got back into the slow lane we ran over a bird bone.... yes a bird bone.. it was 1/4 of an inch long and it blew up our back passenger tire. We started fish tailing, seconds later the diesel hit the front driver side of our car. It spun us backward barely missing the back of the trailer and another truck. We spun several times into the median, but luckily we were both wearing seatbelts. I always wear mine, because my Patriarchal Blessing says to avoid being careless in a vehicle and to also be responsible. SOOO that was a big red flag of Ashley wear your seatbelt!!! I am so grateful for Patriarchal Blessings. I really do think that it saved my life. I'm also grateful for my wonderful husband who was instantly by my side that day. I love you Ben!!!

A whole bunch of Randomness

Sorry for the picture overload. We just thought we'd update you on everything we've been up to :)

I also wanted to update you on Ben's seminary job.

So far he's done amazing. The only real criticism he gets from the evaluators is that he's to casual.. (sounds like my ben) The students love him, the other teachers love him, and he's doing an amazing job!!!

Meet Thumper.

He's the newest addition to our home. He's funny. He's definitely not shy at all, he can't find food easily cuz he's kinda a dumb dumb, but he does eat out of your hand which is fun. :) We call him thumper because when we got him he kept trying to get out of the container and he's keep falling down making a thumping noise.. so he's Thumper :)

Meet Little Foot. We got Little Foot back in June and he is getting so big. He's shy.. very shy. He was the smallest of all the turtles when we got him and we think he's a wimp, but I love him anyway :)

This was a crafty project I made a while ago. I still need to frame it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. The picture is blurry but it says Manti Temple, Dedicated may 21 1888 by Lorenzo Snow and then the other side says Always & Forever June 27th, 2008 Ben & Ashley :)

We also went to Lagoon this summer. I hate roller coasters... with a passion but they were free and it was a company party. It was probably a waste of time but Ben was really into this police game so I had to post the picture :)

WAY Back in August Ben's parents had a little party. There were all these events that you could win money... anyway I learned I really really suck at throwing darts so when I actually hit a balloon and a dollar was inside I was pretty stoked!!!!

Life is good.

Ben and I are doing great!!! He's loving Seminary and hating college but thats okay :) He's just ready to be done!! Only 7 more months!!! He's doing awesome with his teaching. The other teachers come in and see me sometimes and tell me how much the students love him! I'm so proud!!!!! :) Work for me is just dandy. It's been really busy lately but thats good! We haven't done anything super exciting lately. Except my family came down and watched conference with us and that was fun and then Saturday afternoon we randomly went up to Richfield and saw Ben's family. It was so much fun. His dad and I were really bored Sunday afternoon while everyone was sleeping and we made the BEST pumpkin cookies.. and the recipe is super super easy. If you want it let me know :)

Carter's Weddin'

Carter and Stephy got married on Friday. It was absolutely amazing!! I cried, but pretty much everyone in the sealing room cried... except for Ben he's to tough to cry. Lol. I'll post pictures of it when they get back from the honeymoon and steph gives me the pics :) A week before the wedding they had an auction/dinner in Fillmore. A family friend put together the whole thing and it was amazing to see how much love everyone has for Carter.. I cried again.. the whole entire time. It was just so special. I'm a cry baby when it comes to Carter. Anyway, they got enough donations to get a van with the ramp and everything so because of that they got to go to San Diego, just the two of them for there honeymoon. It was amazing.. I loved it. I absolutely love Steph. She's an amazing girl.

Ben's brother comes home from his mission this week! He's been serving in New York. I'm excited, but nervous because I've never met him!!

Ben also starts teaching Seminary on thursday and he's pretty much super excited. And I think he's even more excited for College to start :) ok ok jk thats a lie he's not excited, but I am!!! I just want him to be done and get a job with the church so we can move on with our lives and settle down and stop moving :)

What we've been up to

Lately we have been all over the place! We went to a family reunion in Fruitland weekend & I wen to Steph's Bridal shower that Saturday. Both we're so much fun. We didn't get to stay at the family reunion for very long, but it was nice to see people while we were there. Yesterday we went to Fillmore for an auction and a dinner for a fundraiser for Carter and Steph. It was absolutely amazing!!! I was crying the whole time because I was so happy for them and so grateful for all the donations. The people in Fillmore are absolutely amazing.. Tomorrow we are headed to Salt Lake for Steph's endownment day and then its the wedding next week!!! I'll post more and pictures once life slows down a bit!

Update on us.

Not much is new. We've both been busy. I work all the time and Ben's been busy with getting his classroom ready and his seminary lessons prepped for the next school year. Carter came down this weekend and chilled with us. Its been fun. We've played ALOT of Bang. If you've never played Bang you need to get over here and learn. It's so much fun!

We've got TONS going on the next few weeks.. Ben's got a family reunion, and we've got a whole bunch of wedding stuff coming up! We'll probably make 3 trips to Salt Lake in the next few weeks! Which is fun except that its 4 hours away! Oh well.. its worth it. We're super excited for Carter and Steph :)

Somethin strange is going on...

Okay so! The weirdest craziest thing has been happening today. Here is the time line and the story...

This story is based on actual events... (lol)

Location: My kitchen table.

Date: July 13th, 2009 :)

Time: 1:06 p.m.

My Cell phone goes off.. Text reads.. Hey its kylie this is my knew number. (yes she spelled New wrong)

I'm like what the? Who's kylie...

So I text back.. Kylie who?

She says.. haha funny do u want to hand out with me and tay to day

I'm all... Who???

Unknown texter girl says.. Taylor P.

I text back.. Who do you think this is???

She says.. Wait what is this taylor or ashley!

(now I'm thinking ok weird that she's randomly texting me but even more weird that the real girl she is trying to get ahold of is named ashley!!!)

back to the story

I say this is Ashley C.

AND SHE SAYS!!

haha ok so do u want to hang out lata today?

By now I have tried a lot of things to figure out who this is but I have no idea and I'm pretty sure I don't know them and its all just a crazy mix up where we both have the same name...

So I continue to try and figure out who it is... So I say.. Sure where do you live?

And she says silly you, you've been to my house!

THEN! My little brother texts her and goes... Okay your starting to weird the bajeepers outta me! I dunno if I can come over today.

And crazy texter girl says.. haha okay! Well text me if you can come..

I'm all this is odd I'm done texting her.. cuz I don't know her!

AND THEN the unthinkable happens! I get yet another random kid texting me!!!!

Time: 3:25

Text from unknown says! Hey this is ammon and my new number!

I was like again!!!!! So I say How did you get my number???

Ammon says.. How do you think babe?

I say! Hmmm babe??? And I have no idea.

Ammon says hahah.. my sister gave it to me..

I say: Who's your sister?

Ammon says.. Whats up with you today?

I say: Are you sure this is the right number?

Ammon says: Yeah I'm sure.. Are you ok?

I say: Yeah fine just trying to figure out whats going on here.

Ammon says: haha crazy girl.. We are all going to Ice Age at 4:15 at Fiddlers 6 if you want to come!

So I decided what the freak.. This is weird.. 2 random people text me and both think I'm ashley!!! WHAT IS GOING ON!

So I just decided not to text back anymore.. what if these are like 12 year old boys.. lol

And even now as I'm sitting here they just text me and said hey are you coming? We're at fiddlers..

Ben and Colton are both like.. Lets play with them.. tell them you are there.. and tell ammon you'll meet him in the back of the theater.. lol and I'm like no way.. what if they are little highschool boys.. I think there is a law about this..

Anyways.. hopefully the texts messages will stop. I didn't write the whole convo but I honestly did try and tell them they had the wrong ashley but nooooo they don't give up!

Has it really been a whole year?????

Ben and I had our 1 year anniversary on the 27th of June. :) He planned this big fancy get-a-way to vegas in a freakin 5 star hotel and it was all a big surprise and guess who thinks it will be fun to get sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ME! Yeah ruined the whole thing, but instead we just hung out and he made me feel all better! We we're going to go on his big trip this weekend but now I have to work.. Bummer huh? Oh well. It was still fun.

For the 4th of July we chilled in Cedar City!! My family came down and we got all settled into our new house! Which I absolutely love!!!! Its so nice! AND CLEAN! AND NEW!!! :) Someone should come move and be my neighbor cuz we need a neighbor :)

Update!

Here is what has been going on in our life! Carter got engaged.. this is his darling fiance Stephanie. They are so happy and its so cute. I really like her! They are getting married August 14th in the Manti Temple!!

We went to San Francisco!!!! We were there for a week and absolutely loved it! It was fun to go and just get away for a while. We did lots of shopping, spent time at china town (which is awesome) and just hung out. It was nice to spend a week with eachother!

THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben and I adopted 2 baby turtles.. Mine is about the size of a quarter and Ben's is a little bit bigger... We love them :)

Next!!! Ben's family came down for Father's Day. It was fun to see them and they got to see Ben teach his last sunday school lesson! We like the ward we're in but the new house is out of the boundaries so we'll be going to a new ward next week..

Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is our 1 year anniversary! Its crazy to think its been a year! It's been a great year and I fall more in love with Ben everyday!!!!

Last week we made went to my parents house and cut some big circles. We're going to make the plan of salvation for his classroom! It will be sweet when its done!

Oh boy..

I'm not pregnant.. I just have baby turtles :)!

LIFE IS FULL OF SURPRISES.

Story time!!!!

Okay so 2 weekends ago my older brother Carter's girlfriend came down for my birthday and we all had a fabulous time. We went hiking with the Powells on the 16th and then we all went hot tubbin. Then sunday Ben taught in church and when we got home from church we hung out with Steph (carter's girlfriend) and Carter for a little while. Then she left and we were all talking and watching Extreme Home Makeover.. which always makes me cry.... anyways! We decided we really liked Stephanie and Carter was like yeahhhhhhh me too. THEN the following tuesday he told us he was thinking about marrying her.. and we were like cool.. maybe they'd get engaged in the summer... totally not thinking it was going to happen the next day!!! So.. carter ben and i had plans to live in this darling house, but since they were talking marriage we decided we couldn't live there because Ben and I can't afford that much rent a month.. So now its thursday and ben and I are like we have to find a place today because we thought at the time we had to get out of the apt. we're in now by the 29th so we'd only have a week to find a place and move to it. Anyways we found a bran new, vaulted ceiling 2 bed/2 bath, granite counter tops, stainless steel applainces, new carpet, never ever ever been lived in condo for $600 a month!!!! OH how this economy is great for poor people lol...We talked our landlord into letting us stay here so we didn't have to rush the new landlords into putting carpet in and letting us move in, in 5 days.. oh yeah sorry they don't have carpet right now they put it in when the tenants pay a deposit. SO on JUNE 27-28 we get to move in! Which is perfect cuz it gives us time to enjoy San Fran and get summer games over and then move so i'm freakin excited!! OHHHH And Carter is getting Married August 14th.. We think.. nothing is completely offical yet because the ring is getting re-sized.. I'm so excited tho.. She's darling!!! Okay I'm done blogging!!!! 

Easter Pictures, Institute Gradute and Seminary Student Teacher!

First of all I'm sorry I'm such a slacker and updating our blog. This is what has been going on!

Easter time!!!

   First of all we went to Fillmore and saw my family and had a great time with them and then we went to Richfield and had a Jesus Dinner.. It was cool. We ate foods that Jesus would have eaten :) THEN....

 Ben graduates from Institute :) He got an Advance Certificate.. so its like he has his masters for institute.. cool huh! Anyways.. So we go to his graduation, and for those of you that know Ben he HATES big ceremonies. So we get there and its like 7:00 and he leaves to go in the room with the gradutes and I'm just chillin in the Chapel. Then the grads walk in and by now its like 7:18 ish. And I text him and I'm like sit by me not by the gradutes! Because I'm a loser and hate sitting

 alone. But much to my suprise my reply to that text was.. Let's Jet.. I'm thinking.. what? Your really going to leave right before it starts.. and I text back saying.. well whatever you want to do but I think you should just come sit by me. AND THEN the unthinkable happens.. Ben stands up with another kid and I'm thinking ok they are just going to talk to someone.... oh no.. he walked into the room where his certificate was and I get a text saying.. Meet Ye' in the Foyer. And i was like oh... only my Ben.. ... So we did go to his graduation! But.. missed the talks and all the graduation stuff.. :) 

On to my next new exciting news.. Ben found out Tuesday he gets to teach 2 high school classes next school year. He is so excited and I am so happy for him! He'll be such an amazing teacher. I hope he gets picked at the end of this next year :)

Thats about all the news for us.. Its Birthday month for both of us.. mine is on the 15th and his is on the 25th. We're going to party!!!! Oh and we're going to San Francisco on May 29th with Ben's family.. That trip should be awesome, but I'll blog about it then :)

Exciting news!

Ben got hired on to be a Seminary Student Teacher for the next school year! He's so excited and he'll do an amazing job! I'm so proud!!! :)

Easter

I haven't updated our blog in a long time so since I'm sitting home doing nothing right now I figured I would post some pictures and update everyone. It's finals week right now and Ben has one everyday this week. I'm sure he'll do good tho, cuz he's smart. He also started student teaching last week and absolutely loves it!!! If he gets picked he'll be an amazing seminary teacher. He finds out in a couple weeks if he's been selected to student teach next year. And nothing is new with me.. except I got a raise :) Yay! oh and these are the easter cards we sent to my mom, ben's mom and my best friend Angela :) Cricuts are amazing things.. :)
